Happy 20th Anniversary to PPWA Welcome! We would like to extend a special invitation to you, become a member today. These past 3 years we have seen a huge increase in new Pelican Pointe residents and members. PPWA activities are a wonderful way to meet your neighbors and other women within our community. We have been energized by our new members and are looking forward to new and exciting events in the coming year. You will build friendships and make lasting memories. For more information about our organization, please feel free to contact our Membership Co-Chair, Susan Dolembo at: sdolembo@verizon.net Our history: The Pelican Pointe Women’s Association was started by the late Muriel Fraser in 2003 with the help of Mary Wilson, Marcia Palermo, Cleora Grossi, Marilyn Larson and Ruth Kaal. This small group of dynamic neighbors got together to create an organization that would foster a spirit of community for all women living in Pelican Pointe. They started with 8 interest groups: Book Club, Gardening, Dinner and Theatre, Crafty Ladies, Wine Tasting, Travel, Opera and Not So Gourmet. We have continued their vision and have grown through the years, now offering over 57 activities to our 576 members. Each activity begins through the initiative of an individual woman with an idea for an activity. The goal is to bring together women who share a common interest. Some activities will appeal to your cultural or creative side; others involve athletics, travel or games. And, to add to the fun, most involve refreshments. We look forward to meeting you!
